As it should be with any successful venture, keeping up with changes in the market is crucial. One reason for the name change was to emphasize that the shop is a team effort rather than just the work of one individual. In addition to the name change, the company logo was redesigned, a new marketing strategy developed, and the popular merchandise line expanded to match the change.
The Shine Speed Shop showroom is well equipped with art, memorabilia, and merchandise. While Shine Speed Shop is young in years, it does have several repeat customers who are happy with the results and come back for more. Jimmy Shine has found his calling and followed his passion to create Shine Speed Shop. In the coming years I see adversity, trials, tribulations and the test of our collective mettle.
Dave Doucette is a long-time Goodguys member with a career in newspaper, magazine and website journalism. He owns and operates Real Auto Media. His first car was a Ford; he has owned Camaros, Firebirds, El Caminos and a Chevy that was entered in shows from California to Florida before being sold last year.
He was one of the original Goodguys Rodders Reps and served as president of two classic Chevy clubs. Doucette grew up in South Florida, avidly following the racing exploits of local hero Ollie Olsen and, of course, Don Garlits.

He found himself living alone and seeing his daughter every other weekend. Not the best case scenario. An upside was living on the beach in San Clemente, skateboarding down Del Mar and walking to his favorite surf spots. Shine was driving concrete trucks and tractors for a living at this time—again anything mechanical with big power kept him happy. However, an unexpected phone call from an old friend would turn the tables again.
Introductions to the Kennedy brothers, Cole Foster and other hooligans made for a comfortable fit.
