To acquire land for its new harbor, the city made a deal with Zaiser, essentially exchanging land for the needed property immediately north of the San Luis Rey river mouth. With the gaining momentum, Oceanside voters overwhelmingly approved formation of Harbor District in With enthusiasm running high, the first Harbor Days was held that year at the Del Mar Boat Basin before the harbor was even built!
The Oceanside Harbor was dedicated and formally opened in June of The Oceanside Yacht Club was founded in shortly after the harbor opened. The founders met in a small rented office until the present building was completed in City officials along with the developer, Isaco Inc.

Besides this, the company purposes to furnish power for manufacturing purposes, utilizing for electric currents the power of their immense sluice-ways, through which the water falls for hundreds of feet; and thence they will convey the power to factories, grist-mills, canning-houses, etc.
Hydraulic engineers say that this company will have 65, horse-power available. This little seaside city already has various robust and flourishing manufactories, and industries which would be creditable to any long established settlement. It has furnished lumber for nearly every house in the city. It carries a full line of all kinds of lumber, including sash blinds moldings, etc.
