Was it easy to get around? The walk along the paved path isn't challenging, and has slight bends and small inclines. At about a mile long, it's easily to navigate just follow the path , and has multiple entrances and exits, but one main one on Shore Road, between the Spar Hawk and the Anchorage. Along the path there are 39 benches on which take a break and relax. That sounds cool. All said and done, what—and who—is this best for? At no cost, with easy access for everyone, and with some of the most stupendous coastal views in all New England, it's hard to come away from a stroll on Marginal Way feeling like you've wasted your time.
Anyone who adores nature walks and the ocean will thrill to the experience. Masks will be required, as many sections of the path are much too narrow to allow the protocol of 6 feet of social distancing per CDC and Maine CDC recommendations.
In addition to mask-wearing, state mandated social distancing guidelines should also be adhered to wherever they reasonably can be on areas of the Marginal Way. Currently, anyone visiting Ogunquit from out of state must comply with Gov. Ogunquit police and town officials will be monitoring activity on the the beaches. Everyone is being asked to please adhere to the local guidelines for the health and safety of everyone — and so we can keep the Marginal Way open moving forward.
