If you left Kothos before that you'll still be snowy too and all you have to do is go out onto the Lighthouse island, the travel guy is out there with a green? Taebrythn View Profile View Posts. Doug View Profile View Posts. OP: Background: I'll try to make this clearer than previous posters have. Korthos that's the name of the island has a problem that makes it cold and snowy.
Once you successfully complete Misery's Peak, you have solved that problem and the island reverts to its usual sunny nature. Those who have not completed MP cannot group with those who have. Unsurprisingly, players have labeled these identical but non-overlapping areas as 'Snowy Korthos' and 'Sunny Korthos. If that option's available, that'll put him in the Stormreach Harbor and will hopefully flag him as having completed the Korthos storyline and put him in 'Sunny Korthos.
There's a small dock with a boat there. Talk to the person by the boat. Your character will receive starter items as rewards upon completion of The Grotto.
Completion of the Grotto will result in your character zoning into the Korthos Village public zone. This is the first town area or public zone a character will encounter along their DDO journey.
Korthos Village and Korthos Island are unique in terms that they have two versions of each zones, referred to a the Snowy Side and the Sunny Side by players. Characters who have not completed the Salvation of Korthos or new player experience are on the Snowy Side and cannot move about the rest of the DDO's public zones in addition they cannot interact with players on the Sunny Side of the Korthos Chain.
Talk to the tavernkeep in there. He will direct you to other quest givers. After finishing the three quests above, go back to the tavern and proceed to The Collaborator quest.
Once you are done with The Collaborator , talk to the mayor outside. He will grant you access to Korthos Island 's wilderness adventure area. Collect quests in the village, then enter the wilderness area, find dungeon entrances located within and complete them. Redemption is the only quest necessary to advance the arc — the rest are optional. You are now " flagged " for the quest Misery's Peak. Go and talk to Amalgam, a Warforged in the Korthos Island wilderness area, and start the quest.
Keep in mind that your party members all have to be flagged as well to do this quest together. Quests that need flags cannot be shared with unflagged characters. Upon completion, you will get The Salvation of Korthos flag. Go back to the village it's not snowing anymore! This time, partly because I knew what to expect, I made my way to the end of the quest and had an interesting time with the end fight.
In the end, I last long enough to complete the quest. I look forward to doing this quest at level. Hamllin collected two more monster manual deeds, one for clay golem exterminator II account award and one for mudman hunter 2, experience.
He looted a Hardened Hide Helm in the last quest. It was a strong and productive set of quest runs over this latest holiday weekend. The weekend runs kicked off early Friday morning when I took my druid Cannock Level 7 out into the wilds of Korthos Island. This was a nice little mindless slayer run prior to my meeting at work. Later that night, I logged back on Erdrique and hit up a number of quests after I added pure good to his acid quarterstaff in the Cannith Crafting hall.
After those runs, I decided to collect some more challenge ingredients and completed a few runs of The Lava Caves: Colossal Crystal.
After that I logged out for the night. Erdrique looking for some of the traps in the Ruined Halls. Erdrique taking some time to upgrade his favorite quarterstaff. Awesome peak in Searing Heights.
Erdrique looking for the key to free Achka in the Iron Mines. Erdrique dealing with the scorpions in the Lava Caves to clear the way for the kobolds to find the colossal crystal. I was active once again with Erdrique on Saturday. I took him back out into Searing Heights and wound up completing that wilderness zone before I logged out for the night. Once I finished that run, I obtained the necessary jaded scorpions for my next upgrades. I then called it a night.
Erdrique getting harassed by the Consecrator. Erdrique feeling sorry for this poor little kobold. Erdrique finds Redwillow in the ruins he wants to explore. To close out the weekend, I logged Erdrique back on and joined up with Hellbanisher where we entered and took on the dangers of The Pit. We made it through on the quest quite efficiently and that netted both of us well over 30 k experience.
Nice indeed!! Erdrique taking note of the view in The Pit. So, as usual, it was another weekend dominated with runs with Erdrique. I hope to continue on with my challenge questing because I would really like to have the necessary ingredients I need to upgrade my Ring of the Stalker and Spare Hand when I hit level Thanks for reading everybody and happy questing!!
I had another wide variety of questing activities this past week. He continues to collect his slayer kills out there while also hunting down the last of his rare encounters. After completing those quests I then had enough experience to move Berann up to level 8.
So after that, I called it a night. Berann fighting the spider queen, Silkweave. Erdrique coming across a minotaur in the Halls of Shan-to-Kor. Berann looking for Venn in Clan Tunnelworm. Berann exploring the cells of Clan Tunnelworm looking for Venn. I still have quite a bit to explore in this area. Later in the afternoon, I logged on with Hamllin Level 16 Fighter and I continued his slayer runs through the Red Fens and I took him through a few circuits with the Festival of the Traveler.
Speaking of the Festival of the Traveler, I also logged on with Stoorage Level 11 Fighter to do a few circuits through the Marketplace as well. Needless to say I was quite impressed with a few things. Although Sludgge is a two weapon fighter, with the changes to repeating crossbows he has also become quite a ranged threat. I also really enjoyed using his Mechanic ability Time Bomb and had fun time blowing up sahaugin on epic normal.
I then closed out the night by taking Sludgge through a circuit of the Festival of the Traveler. Hamllin coming across a sneaky Fen Cat in the Red Fens.
Hamllin decides to take a run with the Festival of the Traveler. Stoorage making the route through the Marketplace for the Festival of the Traveler. Sludgge invading the sahaugin base in the Red Fens. Sludgge hunting for some eggs in the Marketplace. Garrrin has just started to work on the epic slayer zones so it should be a productive time for him.
That was the only run I was able to get done on Wednesday. For Thursday, I logged on with Cannock Level 7 Druid in the morning and took him through Korthos Island where he is still working on his slayers out there, although he should be wrapping that up soon. During the afternoon, I took Hamllin back into the Red Fens and continued to work on his slayers out there. I also took Stoorage through one last run of the Festival of the Traveler.
I called it a night after that. Cannock attacking the cultists in Korthos Island. Cannock dealing with the enemies in Korthos Island. Stoorage making one last circuit in the Marketplace for the Festival of the Traveler. So that was my week in DDO.
Not a bad week at all. Hoping for a productive weekend as well. I hope everybody else had wonderful week and has a great weekend. Thanks for reading everybody and happy hunting!! I ran characters through some epic quests as well as taking Erdrique Level 3 Rogue , who just went under a fresh heroic true reincarnation, through some beginning Harbor quests.
As usual, my questing started off with a typical slayer run on Monday morning. Rimuldar took his mini-army out and hunted down some drow before I needed to head out to work. That afternoon, I logged on with Hamllin Level 15 Fighter and I continued to work on my slayer project with him. As a result, I took him out in Searing Heights to collect some slayers and to try to find his last rare encounter for that area. So the end fight only consisted of the assassin and the main boss.
Overall, not bad at all. Larrs making his way through the Illusionarium. Hamllin getting ready to have surprise some enemies in the Searing Heights. He took some hirelings with him too and ran around the forest to take on the various drow who were lurking in the forest. Later that day, after work, I took Erdrique out into the Cerulean Hills because I still had a minor slayer pot running and I wanted to take advantage of it. I actually ran into some problems with Tomb of the Crimson Heart as I was hit pretty hard by one of the traps in there.
But besides that miscue, Harrgon had little difficulty in there. Erdrique hunting out in Cerulean Hills. Erdrique looking for the Miller. Erdrique working on eliminating the spiders in the crypt.
Harrgon takes on the enemies of Three Barrel Cove. Harrgon making his way through the Tomb of the Crimson Heart. Wednesday was a pretty light day. Later that afternoon, I kept on with the slayer theme as I logged on with Hamllin who I took out into Searing Heights and was able to locate Smolder , his last rare encounter in that area as well as finishing up his slayer counts, and then I took him out into Sorrowdusk Isle. After making a circuit through Sorrowdusk Isle I called it a night.
Cannock wreaking havoc in Korthos Island. Hamllin ruining the day for the kobolds in Searing Heights. Originally Posted by HorseKawk. How do you get to the harbor from the hall of heroes?
